This iconic rally starts in Gran Canaria and finishes in Saint Lucia. In November each year, around 250 yachts set sail from Las Palmas in Gran Canaria to participate in the world-renowned Atlantic Rally for Cruisers (ARC). This race is the biggest trans-ocean event in the world.

The ARC passage takes you across 2700 miles of the Atlantic Ocean on the trade wind route intended to provide the most civilised way of crossing the ocean with ideal and exciting downwind sailing. The race will take between 2 – 3 weeks depending on the conditions and finishes in the Caribbean Island of St. Lucia. The ARC is a definite bucket list race for most sailors!

Let’s leave the winter weather behind in the UK to sail non-stop almost 3000 nm to the sunshine of the Caribbean!

We are also offering some of the Delivery Passages from Hamble to Gran Canaria over four legs for those wanting Mile Building opportunities towards their Yachtmaster qualifications.

2023 Campaign calendar

• 16th November onwards, – Crew arrive in Las Palmas.
• – Meet on board Sidney II to get to know each other, a full safety briefing and boat prep.
• – Full training day followed by the ARC leaving party and fireworks!
• – Enjoy the day off and explore the island or relax.
• 19th November 2023 – Race day! Move on board Sidney II, and the race starts midday.
