Practical course

RYA Day Skipper

Are you aspiring to be your own skipper? Then this is the course you need. You will learn the skills required to skipper a small yacht in familiar waters by day, and to be able to charter a yacht in the UK and abroad.

Duration

5 days

How the course works

We aim to meet in the evening for dinner the night before the course starts at Port Hamble Marina. It’s a good way to get to know your fellow crew. This also allows us time to discuss and brief everyone on the plan for the next five days.

The next day we set off bright and early to start the course. We all stay on board for the duration of the course, and on the last day, we will return to Port Hamble Marina with enough time for people to make their commute home.

Combined Day Skipper practical and theory course

Why not complete both your theory and practical courses in one go? This 10-day course starts with the shore-based theory; then while everything is fresh in your mind, we move straight onto the practical side of the course. This is a really great way to help reinforce and put into practice everything you have learnt from the theory.
