Racing overview

Racing is a big part of who we are at Ventus Sailing. Both Bob and Tanya have many years of experience as Skipper and first mate on a variety of different races, both inshore and offshore. And they’re both as passionate about it now as they were all those years ago!

What we’re offering is the chance to compete competitively in races but with a little bit more luxury. Sidney II is the perfect offshore racing yacht for this, as she’s sleek and comfortable but also stable, safe and fast.

The Solent

We are lucky in our position in Port Hamble Marina, based on the beautiful Hamble river, as we are just moments away from the central Solent, commonly referred to as the sailing capital of the UK. Each year, a multitude of regattas takes place in the Solent as well as start lines for many of the RORC offshore races.

New to racing?

We understand that getting into racing for the first time as an individual can be quite a daunting task. There are a lot of factors to take into consideration before you dive in, but we’re here to help make all of this easier for you. Give us a call and let us help figure out the best way for you to start your racing journey!

Roles on board

There are many rolls on board when racing, which means there will be something to suit everyone. If you want a little more adrenaline why not try heading up to the foredeck as bowman. Are you a good multi-tasker in your day to day life? Then let’s see if working the pit is right for you. Where ever you end up, we can promise you’ll learn something new and have a great time in the process.
